How pore clogging is your skincare?

When using essential oils topically we dilute them with a carrier oil. Which can be any oil that you would generally use on your skin / in your body.

My favourites are almond oil, fractionated coconut oil – don’t use it often on my face, coconut oil for my body occasionally.

There is a comedogenic scale which rates oils on there likeliness to clog pores and cause breakouts. So it is something to think about particularly when you are creating face oil blends.

Keep in mind that some of the oils may also stain if dropped on clothes or not rubbed into the skin properly. Fractionated coconut I know washes out easily. This scale doesn’t take into account these sorts of things.

Comedogenic Scale and Ratings of some common oils used in skincare

0 – Will not clog pores. Argan oil, camellia, hemp seed, raspberry seed, Shea butter, sunflower oil.

1 – Low. rose hip, castor, calendula.

2 – Moderately low. Almond, evening primrose, grape seed, jojoba, olive, peanut, sesame, Tamanu.

3- Moderately likely to clog pores. Avocado Oil, Fractionated Coconut oil.

4 – Fairly high. Cocoa butter, coconut oil, linseed/flax oil, palm

5 – High. Wheat germ oil

My Favourite DIY Daily Face oil

You are worth the gold standard

You are worth the gold standard
I used to buy literally the gold standard for my husband  – this facial serum which has a good lid and bottle.

And is divine AF to use & makes your skin feel like a dream.

Anyway here I was just using a standard daily moisturiser.

Then I was like hang on I deserve the best stuff too. The gold stuff. The slightly pricier ( a word ?!)

So now I use it everyday now & its divine.
This gold standard that I’m talking about =

Facial serum line up
Rejuvenessence facial serum its a luxurious facial oil – you will feel like you are getting a spa facial every morning when you apply it.

It’s applied at the moisturiser ‘stage’ of your skincare routine. It’s super concentrated too so a little goes along way.

If you have especially dry skin this is perfect for you & it’s not heavy so still absorbs nicely into your skin. That’s why it’s also ok for all skin types. My husband & I have different skin types & we both use it.

Suzanne loves it too

Mum life

This might sound familiar  Mama

💟 settling for second best

💟 making do for you

💟 letting everyone else go first

💟 not getting a fuss made about you

You have probably been guilty of buying an outfit from a kids boutique for your child while you can’t possibly spend 💰 on that new dress for yourself. ( and while I think about that. It’s so much more economical to buy the dress for yourself anyway as kids grow so damn fast!)

Just know you are worthy of it all. Choose the gold standard for yourself when you can.

That doesn’t just mean spending money but taking time for yourself, celebrating you & accepting when others want to celebrate you and all aspects of self care.

Prioritising family life

I’ve heard some say that your priorities should be you, your marriage/ relationship then your kids. Conflicting & it can make you feel like abit of a heartless b but when you think about that.

💖 When you are doing you & taking care of yourself, you have a lot more patience & understanding in your parenting.

💖 When your relationship game is tight you are creating a positive environment for your children & role modelling a healthy relationship.

So really it’s with your children’s wellbeing in mind you take care of yourself & your relationship so you can show up for your kids. {click to tweet}.

Whew some days it just flows here I was starting off about some gold standard facial serum & now we are back to the subjects I love self love, parenting & mindset.

Go well Mama 😘

Much Love
